picture of

It has a ruby colour with purple nuances. On the nose, it combines black berry, spice and toasted aromas coming from the oak maturation. It shows an appealing fruit mingled with liquorice and gamy character. It is juicy and well-structured with good tannins on the palate. It is powerful with a long finish.

To match with a good piece of beef, stewed ham or rustic cheese.

The region is at the confluence of three major influences: southerly, oceanic and continental. These unique conditions have, over time, dictated the choice of varietal. The climate of the Bourgogne winegrowing region is mainly temperate, and has a positive influence on vine growing.
