2021 Salt + Stone Lodi Zinfandel 0.75 Ltr. Red
picture of

Dark ruby-red color with purple reflections. Blackberries and plums leap out of the glass with fine hints of spices and orange peel in the background. On the palate, we find this black fruit accompanied by a seductive touch of cocoa and cedar. Lush fruit is well-balanced with a challenging acidity. This remarkable balance keeps the wine exciting and characterizes the fairly long finish.

Aged and roasted red meats are an ideal match. Perfect for the barbecue. Stuffed turkey, hearty pasta dishes, and pizzas with meat, preparations with mushrooms, and black bean dishes (Chili con Carne).

climate

The climate of Lodi is Mediterranean with a strong influence from the ocean. Warm, dry summers, but the temperature can significantly drop at night, and it can be cold in winter.

soil

Lodi: Sandy soils and marl. Zinfandel prefers dry feet, hence thrives in a warm climate and soil that allows good water drainage.

vinification

Grapes are harvested in the coolness of the night to ensure pure fruit. After fermentation at a controlled temperature, the wine is aged in a blend of new French oak and flavor-neutral barrels for about a year. Then, the blend is made, and the wine is bottled.
